📨 How to Submit an Appeal on Plagiarism Check Results
🕒 When You Can Submit an Appeal
- If your work was not allowed for defense or publication due to plagiarism check results — you have the right to file an appeal.
📝 How to Submit an Appeal
- Write a request addressed to the Rector (in free form) within 3 working days after receiving the check results.
- The request can be submitted in person or via the university’s official email.
- Your appeal must include:
- Plagiarism check PDF report
- Evidence supporting the appeal (authorship confirmation, explanation of sources, co-author statements)
- Your own explanation of the disputed points (why the system showed a high similarity rate)
📋 Appeal Review Process
- An appeal committee (3–7 members) is formed by Rector’s order.
- For student works, a representative of the Student Parliament is included.
- The appeal is reviewed within 5 working days after the committee is formed.
- If the author is absent, the appeal will be reviewed without them.
- The decision is sent to the applicant in writing.
✅ Possible Outcomes
- Appeal is accepted if the initial decision was incorrect.
- Appeal may be rejected if:
- The request was submitted after the deadline
- No clear arguments or evidence provided
- Only general disagreement without explanation
📑 Documentation
- The committee’s conclusion is documented in a protocol.
- The applicant signs the protocol with the note “I agree with the conclusions.”
- Storage of the protocol:
- In the Dean’s Office — for student works
- In the Research Department — for faculty works
🔁 Re-appeal
- Only one appeal can be submitted.
- Re-appeal is possible only with new evidence or significant new circumstances.
⚖️ If the Case is Complex
- If the committee cannot make a decision — the case is referred to the Ethics and Academic Integrity Commission.
